Xavi Hernandez knows the importance of Barcelona’s trip to the Mestalla to face Valencia in La Liga on Sunday evening.

Barcelona will be without a number of key players in the match, but Xavi has made no excuses and understands how important three points are in his team’s quest for fourth place.

“Every game is like a final for us,” Xavi told a news conference on Saturday. “We have to be in the top four.

“We need points urgently. Victory in Valencia is crucial.”

Xavi to Bordalas
Jose Bordalas’ style is very different from Xavi’s, but the Barcelona coach has praised his performances in Valencia.

“I like it,” Xavi said. “He is an amazing coach who is different from us, their style is different and they are more direct, but I like their size, their dance, their interference. They score second goals.

“They work differently for us, but I think he is a great coach. His results show that.”

Will Araujo play?
Ronald Araujo is on his way back from injury and is expected to play on Sunday.

“We have high hopes,” Xavi said. “He’s going to train, and he wants to be there.

“If there is nothing wrong or new, he can play.”

In the game itself, the coach knows that Barcelona will impose their style of play on Los Che, as Bordalas could cause them problems.
