“We have not decided anything” – Xavi in La Liga ahead of Bilbao clash
Eight goals in two games
BarcelonaDest responds to Xavi’s challenge in Barcelona
Xavi Hernandez believes Barcelona could be a threat to attack, which could be a key tactic during their La Liga clash with Athletic Club on Sunday.
In February, Barcelona suffered a series of setbacks, despite their impressive performances in La Liga and their Europa League clash with Napoli.
Xavi told reporters: “Real Madrid caught us with a free kick except for the goalkeeper in one game, but we still caught Napoli with it.”
“This is part of our DNA.
“I remember [Hristo] Stoichkov scoring against the great goalkeeper and [David] Villa and [Thierry] Henry. This is football, the facilities are used.”
Athletic Club knocked Barcelona out of the Copa del Rey in January and will be hoping for a win at Camp Nou.
“We are a different state since we faced them,” Xavi said.
“We have made progress in many areas of the game, the movement.
“Right now we have different players.
“We are confident and improving, but we have to show that in every game.
“Athletic beat Real Sociedad by a landslide.
Atletico Madrid’s win over Valencia helped Barcelona reach the Champions League and could strengthen their fourth-place finish with a win on Sunday.
Ferran Torres, Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have all been linked with a move to Barcelona since joining the club and Xavi has impressed.
“If there were no new players, we would not have achieved our goal,” added Xavi.
“Auba did not surprise me because he is a top scorer.
“Torres is an amazing player, with the work he does and the way he plays for the team. We are talking about a great player. He is the player who surprised me. He is amazing.
“Adama surprised me with his decision, which improved.”
